KCRA 3 is pleased to announce that Andrea Flores will be joining the KCRA 3 News team in December as a 10 p.m. anchor.Andrea is excited to return to the Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto areas. She is familiar with the community from her years studying at the University of California, Davis, where she graduated with a degree in Communications and Media Studies.Andrea most recently worked at KCNC in Denver as an anchor and reporter, where she was part of the launch of the station’s digital news streaming service. Before that, Andrea worked as an anchor and reporter at KMTV in Omaha, KOLN in Lincoln, Nebraska, and KVII in Amarillo, Texas. Andrea started her career as a producer and news associate at KCBS and KCAL in Los Angeles.“I’m thrilled to welcome Andrea back to California to tell our community’s stories,” said KCRA 3 News Director Derek Schnell. “Andrea’s passion to shine a spotlight on important issues and her knowledge of our area make her a great addition to our team.”“Northern California has always had a special place in my heart – the natural beauty is unmatched, and the people are unlike any I’ve ever met,” said Andrea Flores. “As a graduate of UC Davis, this feels like a full circle moment! Coming back to this area is like reuniting with an old friend – picking up right where I left off. I can’t wait to meet our viewers and tell their stories.”Andrea is bilingual in English and Spanish and she is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She is a two-time Emmy nominee and a recipient of the Marsha Bangert Williamson Memorial Award from the National Federation of the Blind. Andrea will join Brian Heap, Mark Finan and Del Rodgers on the KCRA 3 News at 10 p.m. on My58. Her first day will be Monday, Dec. 6.
