Gravedigger Co-op Guide | Nikke: Goddess of Victory (2024)

Ranked Co-op is here! It is extremely recommended that you play with friends or guildmates to better coordinate team comps and strategy if you want to have a high placement in the rankings.
Fortunately, Gravedigger is basically free rewards before stage 9, as even casual early game players with 3k CP will be able to reach stage 9 easily.
After stage 9, Gravedigger’s red circles are much more tankier, which can be very hard for low CP players to break.
This guide is aimed towards players who want high scores for flex purposes or higher placements in the leaderboard, or just for players who want to have fun while knowing how the boss mechanics work.

Boss Mechanics

The same old Gravedigger you faced in Special Interception and Interception S, except it has way more QTE/red circles now after stage 9. As usual, Gravedigger has only 2 attacks, drill missiles and drill attacks.

Drill Missiles

Lame drill missiles fired by Gravedigger, which will stun a unit if landed on. This attack however is only used before stage 9, and can be easily destroyed.

Drill Attacks

Gravedigger’s primary move, especially after stage 9 where the real battle begins.

Gravedigger will drill the entire team if you fail QTE/red circles when Gravedigger is at Position 0. Position 0 is defined as the position where failing QTE causes Gravedigger to use drill.

Upon reaching stage 9, Gravedigger will enter into a QTE phase with red and white circles (yes, same as Gatekeeper Co-op). To succeed in this QTE phase, you have to ONLY break red circles, and DO NOT break white circles. Failing to break all the red circles in time or breaking any white circle will result in failing the QTE phase.

Failing this very first QTE phase after stage 9 will result in the drill mentioned before, wiping out most units without at least full T9 gears, effectively ending the run if you are trying to get higher rankings.

If you do manage to survive from the drill or clear the first QTE phase with red and white circles, Gravedigger will start spamming QTE phase with 5 red circles until it is pushed back to Position 2, where succeeding a QTE phase there will trigger another QTE phase with red and white circles.

Important: Only the first QTE phase with red and white circles right after stage 9 will result in Gravedigger immediately using drill if failed, since Gravedigger starts at Position 0 right after stage 9. Each time you succeed 1 set of QTE phase with 5 red circles, Gravedigger is pushed backwards by 1 position. This means if you manage to break 3 sets of QTE phase with 5 red circles in a row starting from Position 0, Gravedigger will once again enter QTE phase with red and white circles.

Failing the other QTE phase with red and white circles will result in Gravedigger being at Position 1, where you can avoid getting drilled by clearing 1 out of 2 next QTE phase with 5 red circles. Clearing 2 QTE phase with 5 red circles in a row here will also trigger the QTE phase with red and white circles.

Failing the QTE phase with 5 red circles will cause Gravedigger to keep moving forward by 1 position until it reaches Position 0, where as mentioned, failing QTE at Position 0 means you get drilled.

In short, you would want to bring a full DPS team to keep breaking red circles, as the only way to die in this fight is failing the QTE phases. You would also want to only clear the first QTE phase with red and white circles, and ignore the remaining similar QTE phases, and only clear QTE phases with 5 red circles for the remaining duration of the fight to maximize damage.

Core

To maximize damage for higher rankings, it is also recommended to try and aim at Gravedigger’s core, located around its… Belly? Refer to the picture and video below.

Team Comps

Alice Carry (10K+CP + OL Max Ammo+)

Liter, BIS B1 that provides huge damage buff and CDR.

Novel, B2 that buffs damage taken by enemy by a lot, great for maximizing damage in single boss fights. Guilty and Viper are good replacements, dealing good DPS on their own while providing decent burst generation.

Alice, the core carry for this team. She does require very high investments, 10/x/10 skill levels and at least 2 OL with Max Ammo+ sub-stat. Aside from that, precise clicking is required for Alice to break red circles consistently. Alice also needs to be quick firing her shots, especially if you are using Novel in B2. This allows you to get higher burst gen and also deal more damage during her burst.

Maxwell, great support for Alice while also dealing good DPS on her own if she’s highly invested. Maxwell also needs to be quick firing her shots for the same reason as Alice.

Privaty, great support for Alice and Maxwell, especially since the requirement for this team is having Max Ammo+ on Alice and preferably Maxwell. Modernia and Scarlet are good replacements for Privaty, since they deal very good DPS without using burst.

Sword Squad (10K+CP + OL Max Ammo+)

Scarlet, core carries of this team. Scarlets with Max Ammo+ will be able to shred through red circles with ease, compared to requiring more precise mechanics using Alice. However, it is very likely you MUST clear the first QTE phase with red and white circles after stage 9, as it is very unlikely for Scarlets to tank a drill.

Replacement units for third Scarlet if you do not have enough stacked Scarlets are Modernia, Drake and Privaty. Both Modernia and Drake does good damage against Gravedigger without using burst, while Privaty provides good reload speed without reducing Scarlet’s ammo by much since Scarlets used in this team need to have OL with Max Ammo+ in the first place.

Sugar and Drake does very well against Gravedigger, being shotgun units. Sugar is the core here since she buffs up all other shotgun units, while Drake provides decent ATK and hit rate buff to the entire team.

Maxwell and Privaty can replace Drake if you have 2 highly invested Sugar, especially if both Sugar has extra element damage sub-stats on OL.

This team even at lower investments should allow you to last through the entire fight, since they do very well in breaking red circles for QTE phase.
