The latest film in the popular Insidious franchise is set to land in cinemas on August 29, 2025, while the new I Know What You Did Last Summer blockbuster will premiere on July 18, 2025.

Next year marks an important one for horror films, with the release of M3GAN 2.0 being moved from May to June, ahead of the anticipated follow-up to Five Nights at Freddy's — which will hit screens on December 5.

That's not all, as Danielle Deadwyler's upcoming thriller The Woman in the Yard will premiere on March 28. Drop is set for an April 11 release, before The Black Phone 2 starring Ethan Hawke, which will hit cinemas on October 17, 2025.

The latest Insidious film swiftly follows last year's Insidious: The Red Door, which became the highest-grossing movie in the film franchise.

The film, which is the fifth entry in the Blumhouse horror series, garnered $174.3 million at the global box office to become the Insidious movie to earn the most money in cinemas.

The franchise will also spawn a new spin-off, titled Thread: An Insidious Tale. The new series will star This Is Us actor Mandy Moore and Marvel's Kumail Nanjiani as a husband and wife team who travel back in time to prevent the death of their daughter.

Meanwhile, the new sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer marks the fourth iteration of the original film, which was released in 1997. Two sequels were later released in 1998 and 2006.

The original movie followed four young friends who were terrorised by a hook-wielding killer, a year after they were bound together by a car accident.

While details of the new film are currently being kept under wraps, it was reported last year that original stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr are in talks to reprise their roles as Julie James and Ray Bronson.

Insidious 6 will be released on August 29, 2025, while the sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer will premiere on July 18, 2025.
