Resident Evil 2 Trophy Guide • PSNProfiles.com (2024)

Resident Evil 2 remake is a reimagining of one of the most acclaimed games of the series (and of the entire PS1 generation). After more than 20 years, Capcom finally heard the prayers of his fans and remade the game from the ground, giving us a terrifying yet amazing experience that pays homage to the very roots of the survival horror genre.

With respect to the roadmap we are talking about multiple runs with both characters for the story mode, collectibles, combat and boss related trophies and an extra short run with the 4th Survivor mode, unlocked after beating any of the character's 2nd run scenarios.

The task is not simple, the enemies are strong, deal enormous damage (especially in harder difficulties), tend not to follow an established pattern and if that was not enough, a little after halfway through your Police Station playthrough, the Tyrant (also know as Mr. X) will chase you until you escape though the parking garage. This part adds a tremendous sense of anxiety and you could easily get sidetracked while trying to evade him.

A side note about the scenarios

Resident Evil 2 remake has a special mechanic related to how the story mode is played. At the beginning of the game, you can select either Leon or Claire campaign to start your game. Both scenarios share some similarities in the positioning of key items and enemies, but differ in the events that occur, characters you met (Leon meets Ada while Claire meets Sherry) and the exclusive items you find (i.e, Leon obtains the Lighting Hawk Magnum from the Police Station 2F - S.T.A.R.S. Office while Claire gets the MQ11 SMG)

Additionally, when you beat the normal base scenario with either Claire or Leon, you will open a second scenario (or 2nd run) in which you can experience the game from the perspective of the other character (If you beat Claire's normal scenario, you will get Leon's 2nd run scenario).

Since in the 1998 edition these scenarios were differentiated by the letters A and B, throughout the guide and for simplicity, we will call them the same way, Leon A and Claire A for the normal scenarios runs and Leon B and Claire B for the 2nd run scenarios.

New All In-Game Rewards DLC

On April 5, Capcom released a new DLC which allows you to unlock, among others, the extra modes (Hunk and Tofu) and the infinite weapons. Since the platinum requirements do not need S+ ranks, you can use the infinite weapons directly for your Hardcore scenarios, decreasing the amount of playthroughs needed, as well as the platinum difficulty in general. The Roadmap will continue to consider the experience without DLC.

Resident Evil 2 has a lot of missable trophies, but don't panic, the idea is to focus on them throughout your playthroughs. This section will list the missable trophies per section, to give you an idea what to focus on. Keep in mind that the collectables and missable trophies that require an entire playthrough to work on (such as S-Rank, no healing, steps, etc.) aren't listed in this section.

The game is roughly divided into three main sections of the game: the Police Station, the Sewers and the Nest (Laboratory), as they are the most recognizables for players. You can return to the Police Station from the Sewers, so most trophies become missable once you take the cable car into the final section of the game (The Nest). Finally, don't forget to check each trophy description for more information.
