Pros of working at Walgreens
It's easy to get a part time job at Walgreens. They provide a 15% employee discount and 25% for store brand items. Most aspects of the job can be learned on the job regardless of who teaches you.
Cons of working at Walgreens
Job onboarding provides poor training and access to training materials beyond onboarding materials are hidden by management for fear of unpaid training liability. Walgreens teaches new employees to value liability risk over everything, even when it actively hurts the companies stated values and goals. Operations leadership do not like people who ask questions and you have to work around them to get what you need like basic tech support. Robberies common in the city locations and we receive no support from corporate. Wage increases are based on a very small pot, do not expect raises yearly unless corporate is actively trying to retain you. Walgreens actively incourages turn over of 25% as written policy stated in the break room. They'd rather you leave than improve the company.
Walgreens Benefits
Employee discount and 401k program are good considering the job.

Cons of working at Walgreens
Company stopped caring about store managers a long time ago. Average manager works 60 hours per week, often going weeks or months without a single day off. Salary is now one of the worst in the industry. Once a store manager reaches his top pay, he or she will NEVER receive a raise. I know store managers that haven't received pay increases for 9 years.

The hardest part when the management expected you to finish tthe job that your co.worker failed to do. I had fun with most of the customers
Cons of working at Walgreens
Did a lot of projects in addition to your specific job as a cashier. You need to run anywhere in the store, it could be in photo, or cosmetics, even your assignment is at the front register. Learned a lot of their cultural values.
